Recipe for IKEA's meatballs

IKEA has published a recipe for meatballs and a brown cream sauce on Twitter.

IKEA'S MEATBALLS AND CREAM SAUCE

(4 servings)

500 gr minced beef

250 gr minced pork

1 finely chopped onion

1 finely chopped clove of garlic

100 g crust flour

1 egg

5 tablespoons milk

Salt and pepper

Cream sauce:

A splash of oil

40 gr butter

40 gr wheat flour

150 ml vegetable broth

150 ml meat broth

150 ml whipping cream

2 teaspoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1.Mix the the minced meat. Mix in the chopped onion and garlic, crust flour and the egg. Mix well. Then add milk and season with salt and pepper.

2. Form small meatballs out of the dough and place them on a plate. Cover the meatballs with, for example, plastic wrap and leave them in the fridge for a couple of hours. That way, the meatballs hold together during frying.

3. Heat the oil in a frying pan in medium heat and fry the meatballs all around.

4.Move the fried meatballs into an ovenproof dish with a lid and cook them in an oven at 180 degrees (Celsius) (convection oven 160 degrees) for about 30 minutes.

5.In the meantime, you can take the opportunity to prepare the cream sauce in a saucepan.

Melt 40 grams of butter.

Mix in wheat flour and stir for a few minutes.

Add 150 ml vegetable broth and 150 ml meat broth and continue to mix.

Then add 150 ml whipping cream, 2 teaspoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard and stir.

Let the sauce simmer lightly as the consistency thickens that way.

6. Serve the meatballs and cream sauce with eg mashed potatoes.
