For a couple of days I have been watching Youtube and almost drooling over the keyboard when I have watched videos of how cakes and donuts that require only a few ingredients take shape. I have already found this recipe before.
Here is a recipe that according to the description for the accompanying Youtube video only contains 2 ingredients and only takes one minute to make. That's not really true but the donuts look good enough for me to forget and forgive.
What is needed is yoghurt and "self rising flour", ie flour that is ready-mixed with baking powder. In addition, oil is needed to fry the donuts in. And sugar, icing sugar or chocolate to roll the donuts in.
This is a recipe that I intend to use as a vegan variant instead. The butter may be a milk-free alternative and the milk and yoghurt of oats instead.
It is not so common with ready-mixed flour with baking powder in Sweden, although it can be found. Like this flour from Kungsörnen.
Ingredients
140 gr (2.25 dl) flour ready mixed with baking powder
-alternatively 2.25 dl wheat flour and 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
-alternatively 2.25 dl wheat flour and 0.5 teaspoon bicarbonate
1.9 dl (190 gr) natural yoghurt
-alternatively 1.1 dl milk
If you want to glaze the donuts
-4.5 dl icing sugar
-75 gr butter
-3-4 teaspoons milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Melt the butter and mix in the sugar and warm milk.
Add cocoa powder or melted chocolate to part of the glaze.
You can also mix 2 dl caster sugar with 3 tablespoons cinnamon and roll the hot donuts in it.
The dough should be a little loose as it is intended that you should use a spritz with the accompanying bag to then cut a piece of dough straight into the 160-170 degree hot oil.
But you can also use a thicker freezer bag and just cut off a corner to get out a piece of dough which is then cut off with scissors.
Or as it is said in the video, it is also possible to use a spoon and drip the dough directly from the spoon into the oil.
I used the conversion table at Allas .
